Our stay at Mirai Nouen was nothing short of fantastic. Kōshi and Chiyoko were kind and welcoming, and our room was lovely and very traditional Japanese. We stayed for two nights, and had the pleasure of eating breakfast and dinner prepared by Chiyoko. It was all lovely, homemade and the fish she served was caught by Kōshi himself. It was delicious and fresh and a great experience of traditional Japanese cuisine. Kōshi also played his guitar for us, which was very lovely.
On the second day of our stay, we went fishing with Kōshi, who very kindly cancelled his golfing-plans to take us. We went early in the morning and Kōshi got everything set up and ready for us to use. He also taught us how to fish and was very kind and helpful. We managed to catch 5 fish, and in the evening Kōshi served us sashimi and cooked fish, made from the exact fish we caught earlier. This will be one of our most unforgettable and cherished experiences during our trip to Japan.
When it was time to leave Tanabe, Kōshi offered to drive us to the station, which was very kind of him.
We truly recommend staying with Kōshi and Chiyoko to anyone who is looking for an authentic and homey stay in Tanabe.
